SuperMama

It was a heartbreaking day. I have a daddy’s girl. She looked around for him all day, pointed at his picture and said Papa in a whiny voice and looked up in anticipation everytime the door opened. Then we made the mistake of putting her on the phone with him. She bawled, and wouldn’t say goodbye or give up the phone. She isn’t eating, I assume as protest. Little does she know he’s only gone for one day.

But…

I made it through the night alone without Papa! Mind you, Grandma was a backup sleeping downstairs – but I didn’t wake her. Our toddler still wakes up at least once at night and with Papa away for work I was worried about juggling two babies in the middle of the night. I didn’t empoloy any super skills, I was blessed with great timing.

First off, the wee one slept for two hours after I went up to bed – unheard of. Then little miss woke up wanting milk, not surprising as she only ate a price of bread, a yogurt and some bbq sauce during the day. They just woke up at alternate times. Meaning I didn’t get much sleep but I didn’t have a break down either. Even though I got popped on.

My weight loss/diet challenge went ok. Water wasn’t always top of mind but I did meet my intake goal. I have eaten a much better breakfast this morning too. I normally eat too small a breakfast then munch on junk. But I had a well balanced breakfast. Let’s see how it goes from here on in.

Here are two great links I came across last night:

  • 11 Rules of Life for Small Boys – although I know a few big boys who could use this advice too.
  • Eating Rules is a great blog about this guy who came up with three rules to eating. He has created some great guides as well. Check out the Breakfast Flow Chart and the Nutrition Facts Guide.
